ENGLISH SUMMER CAMP
MADRID - 3 TO 12 YEARS OLD
During June and July, kids between 3 and 12 years are welcomed to learn English at Colegio Santa María la Blanca through a wide variety of activities. The purpose of the "English Summer Camp” is to achieve absolute immersion in the English language during the summer so that students enjoy learning in English. To achieve this, we have ratio of approximately 12 students per instructor, and a teaching staff made up of bilingual people. They are in charge of, through a dynamic and active methodology in which the student is the true protagonist of their learning, designing activities in which the four main areas of English world: oral, written, listening and reading.
Theater
In this workshop, students will enhance expressiveness, both with oral and body language; and they will work in public speaking skills. Theater is a great method to improve pronunciation while working on reading and literature in a fun way that children love.
English is not just talking, it is also listening, so we will work more on this area through music, while improving pronunciation, grammar and learning new vocabulary and expressions. To learn English in a fun and dynamic way with music, we will listen to attractive songs for children, with excercises to fill in spaces, repetition, reading, etc...
Sports
Sport is a very important habit, which is why we also want to instill this very important habit throughout hteir lives. Of course, we do not lose sight of the language part at any time, so this workshop will be taught by native and bilingual sports instructors who will ensure that the children, in addition to their physical development, work on hearing and oral skills.
Crafts
By manipulating different materials, like clay, pencils or even everyday objects, and recycling, students will make crafts. They will be able to have fun and take home their crafts while enjoying team work and improving their expression and vocabulary.
Workshops
The workshops focus on engaging activities that enhance student's learning experiences. The Cooking Workshop introduces children to various sweet and savoury recipes, helping them enjoy cooking while expanding their basic vocabulary related to utensils, verbs and ingredients. The Experiments and Discoveries Workshop emphasizes natural and social sciences, fostering observation and creativity through experiments and group projects on geography and history, while also promoting health education, especially regarding nutrition. The Writing Workshop for primary students aims to instil a love for writing and teach the necessary structures for developing different types of texts, enhancing grammar, vocabulary and literacy skills. Lastly, the Cambridge Workshop prepares students for various Cambridge exams, from beginners to levels like KET, PET and FCE through playful group activities that encourage collaborative learning.
